PARENT PLANNING MEETING 5/28/2019

Dr. Dyno and other school administrators held a parent planning meeting on Tuesday May 28, 2019. Items on the agenda included important dates for 2019-2020 as well as questions and answers about the curriculum. The full Presentation can be found by clicking here. Special Items of Note are highlighted below.

Things to note in the area of Special Education:
* Services in pre-k are a universal problem, especially given that we have trouble finding providers to come out to Southampton. Pre-K services are specifically provided by the County. Click here to e-mail our legislator Bridget Fleming if you would like changes in that area
* Every board meeting, CSE requests should now be adopted (as opposed to having to wait for several months).

2019-2020 School Calendar
* The 2019-2020 calendar has been posted. May is currently incorrect and needs to be edited (it has the wrong weekdays).
* There are three give back days in the event of snow days. First giveback is May 22, 2020
* End of year ½ days – dismissal at 11:15.

Are you a pre-k parent interested in dual language for kindergarten?
* The info session will be the evening of June 6, 2019.
* The lottery will be June 13, 2019

June 4, 2019 Board Meeting Agenda Items
* Are you interested in the possibility of a Breakfast for All program where the schools test a pilot program delivering breakfast carts to each room at no cost to the student? Come out and tell the School Board that you would like them to vote "YES" on June 4, 2019 (or if you have concerns, voice them).
